Verify a certificate

Every Certificate of Completion carries a unique certificate number, issued the moment the learner passes the final exam and never reused. That number is the anchor for any verification question.

For employers, verification is self-serve. If the person trained under your organization, your Settings → Organization page shows their standing directly, and your audit export contains their certificate number and issue date alongside their scores — matching a certificate someone hands you against that export settles the question. Records for people who have since left your organization survive too; export before offboarding or keep periodic exports on file, and the certificate itself remains valid evidence of the training they completed.

There is currently no public lookup page where anyone can type in a number, and we'd rather say that plainly than imply otherwise. If you're evaluating a certificate from outside the organization it was earned in — say, a new hire presenting one from a previous employer — the certificate PDF plus the issue date is what exists today, and your own compliance posture decides whether fresh training is warranted anyway. Many organizations simply retrain new hires as a matter of course, since HIPAA training is expected to reflect your policies, not just the regulation.
