How the course works

The course is eight video chapters, watched in order. Each one runs three to five minutes and ends with a five-question quiz, and the whole sequence takes most people around an hour including the assessments.

Chapters unlock one at a time. Watching a chapter's video unlocks its quiz, and passing that quiz unlocks the next chapter. A quiz is passed at 80%, which on five questions means four correct answers. If you score lower, nothing is lost — review the chapter (the transcript is on the same page) and retake it. Retakes are unlimited and always will be.

Once every chapter quiz is passed, the final exam opens. It has twenty questions drawn from the chapter quizzes you already passed, so nothing on it will be new to you. The passing mark is the same 80%, which means sixteen correct answers, and you can retake it as many times as you need — your best score is what we keep.

Passing the final exam issues your Certificate of Completion immediately. You can view it in the browser or download it as a PDF, and if you belong to an organization, your admin sees your completion on their dashboard and in their audit export.

Your dashboard tracks all of this for you. The progress bar fills half a segment when you watch a chapter's video and the other half when you pass its quiz, and a Continue card always points at whatever comes next, so you can leave mid-course and pick up exactly where you stopped.

One honest note about what the certificate is: there is no official, government-issued HIPAA certification, and no training vendor can grant one.
